I’m #151 on the map. My most recent work will be on display and I’ll have some originals for sale, prints, and cards. There will also be fortune-telling.

There is a corresponding group show open this week (10-5) and on the weekend during tour hours at 241 West 3rd Street. It’s a good place to get an overview of all the artists participating and figure out whose studios you want to check out.

Some of the sponsors for bingo in Texas include the Holland Corn Festival, The Annunciation Maternity Home, The House of Isaiah Athletes for a Drug Free America, Christ the King, and the Bell County Society for Crippled Children.

Perhaps the most exciting bingo in Texas is on Tuesdays. That’s when the Golden Bell Bingo Hall in Gun Barrel City has Hot Ball.

Bo Carter’s “Your Biscuits Are Big Enough For Me”

Bo was very subtle. Some of his other hits include “Banana in Your Fruit Basket” and  “Please Warm My Wiener.”

Continuing on a musical theme, let’s take a moment to appreciate Glen Hansard‘s guitar.

The guitar may be named “The Horse.” Hero Design Studio made a poster of it.

It has also been carved in pumpkin.

Here in Austin on the grounds of one of the art museums, artists have designed miniature golf holes. Course obstacles include giant chickens, scary clowns, and my favorite – the Nutrioppossomus by Boozefox.

Artist Andrea Dezso created an embroidery series based on lessons from her mother.

• “That thing Norma did” is currently up at the Phoenix Trades Depot in East Austin, and for sale via their online shop through April 10. Original Norma goes un-for-sale for a while after the 10th, but will still be available as a print.
• “Miffy & Buffy” is also now available as a print, and is going to be included in the next issue of Uppercase, out in mid-April. I just got the last issue, and am completely in love with this magazine.
• I’m going to be part of the West Austin Studio Tour, May 19 & 20th. My guest artist will be jewelry designer Lisa Chandler. With the two Lisa’s, I think we should make all of our guests honorary members of the Cult Jam. More into on this will be out next month.
